Pixie may just be the perfect addition to your family! She’s a curious girl who loves to supervise the activity in the house. She hasn’t had any exposure to young children but she loves when guests come to visit, coming right out to greet them! She loves to have her beautiful, long hair brushed. She loves to run and play, and also enjoys relaxing in the window watching the local wildlife.

Dog of the Week: April

Julia D Dog of the Week

April

Hi my name is April but my foster family calls me Chowchow.  I am a great girl, good in the house, and don’t get into things. I am housebroken and kennel trained. My foster family tells me I have lots of wonderful energy!  I need lots of exercise, it would be so great if I had an active new home to keep me busy! I am very food motivated!    I get along great with cats, most dogs with proper slow introduction, and respectful kids. I need a fenced yard because being outdoors and playing in the yard and talking are some of my favorite things to do!  I really would like to find my forever family!

If you’re interested in April please complete an application HERE or email adoptions@adopthope.org.

Cat of the Week: Amber

Julia D Cat of the Week

amber

Amber is a very sweet little girl who purrs non-stop. She went through a difficult time after having her litter of kittens but she always kept purring and loving on those kittens.  She has been a great little mama, even though she is young herself.  She loves attention and being right by your side at all times!

If you’re interested in Amber please complete an application HERE or email adoptions@adopthope.org.

Dog of the Week: Shay

Julia D Dog of the Week

shay

My  name is Shay and the vet thinks I am about 9 years old. I am kind of a princess and really want all the attention to myself, so I would like to be the only pet in your house.  I love to go on walks and meet new humans. I walk pretty good on a leash too. I love people of all ages. I am a really good girl!   Because of my age I am starting to have a little trouble seeing but it doesn’t stop me from giving great kisses!

Cat of the Week: Artemis

Julia D Cat of the Week

artemis

Artemis needs a special foster home. This sweet senior girl was just diagnosed with diabetes and asthma. This combination is extremely hard to treat as the medications can cancel each other out. She needs a foster home who can monitor her closely, provide the medical care she needs – medications and insulin injections – and supply her with the love and care she deserves. She will also need frequent vet check ups as we work to get her diabetes under control.

Artemis is a confident, older girl who still has some spunk and some love to share. She loves people and loves to get attention from her foster mom and the occasional play session, in between naps of course. Artemis and her sister Cassie were surrendered to a shelter in Eastern Iowa last year before making their way to Last Hope. Artemis would love to find a new forever home of her own with a family to love! She does great with kids and after a little time to warm up has done well with other cats.

If you think you would be a good foster for Artemis please complete an application HERE. If you’re interested in adopting Artemis, that application can be found HERE. You can also email adoptions@adopthope.org for more information.

Julia D Dog of the Week

dexter-2

Hi I am Dexter! I am an adorable little guy who LOVES to play and run! I am about 11 months old and I have a LOT of energy I need to burn off!  I would love to have a yard to run in and an active family to play with.  I am very smart and am just starting to learn my manners. I already know sit and the great volunteers are teaching me other people words. I like treats so you can easily teach me lots of things. I am still learning how to be friendly with other dogs so a proper introduction is important. I can’t wait to find my new forever home!

If you’re interested in Dexter please complete an application HERE or email adoptions@adopthope.org.

Dog of the Week: Brownie

Julia D Dog of the Week

Brownie

Brownie is looking for her forever home.  She has completed her heartworm treatment and is ready for her next adventure.  She really likes people and is  ready for attention any time she can get it.  She’s sweet with adults and older kids.  Since she is strong and excitable, younger kids could get accidentally hurt by her jumping on them so we are looking for a home with children over the age of 10.    Brownie needs to be in a home where she is the only dog, and she is very curious about cats so we are looking for a cat free home as well.

If you’re interested in Brownie please complete an application HERE or email adoptions@adopthope.org.

Happy Tail: Hope

Julia D Happy Tails

Hope 4

Connie adopted Hope from Last Hope and she’s fitting into the family well!

Hope 5HopeConnie had to euthanize her 17-year-old cat due to health problems but still had a 10-year-old cat, Sammie, at home and wanted a companion for her. She looked at our adoptable cats and found Hope and fell in love.
Hope is doing great and is exactly as described in her adoption bio – she loves to play with toys! After playing she’ll snuggle up on Connie’s lap for a nap. She wakes Connie up in the mornings with her cold, wet nose which Connie loves. Hope also likes to watch the birds and squirrels who visit on the deck.
Connie says that Hope seemed right at home as soon as she came to live with her. Sammie is slowly warming up to Hope and Connie expects they’ll be best of friends.
