Dog of the Week: Mellow

Julia D Dog of the Week

Mellow

Mellow is a sweet and fun young girl.  She loves to explore the backyard (so a fence would be ideal), but also loves to relax and just be near you.  And she loves tummy scratches!  She is crate-trained and sleeps through the night there.  In her foster home, she’s living with a dog and two cats and she gets along fine with all of them.  Mellow is very friendly, but would do best living with older kids (12+). Mellow is waiting to meet you!

Cats of the Week: Rexx, Slinky, and Buzz

Julia D Cat of the Week

We are featuring three kittens this week as Cats of the Month! First up is Rexx…

Rexx

Hi! My name is Rexx …. Hear my …. ROAR **meow !!! I am the smallest of the litter, but have the biggest heart! I am fearless at playtime with my bigger siblings but take advantage of my small cuteness at snuggle time. I get along with all two or four legged creatures, but would really grow in a home that would get the most attention. I would love to meet you and show you my big heart in my little furry body!

Slinky

Hello World! My name is Slinky and I am energetic, playful, friendly, but I have a secret …. I wish I were a dog! I love my other siblings I live with but my favorite 4 legged creature is my foster parents dog, we play tug of war, tail hop and so much more! My siblings and I had a rough start to life and needed to be bottle fed from the beginning, but against all odds I made it and am grateful to any human I see, big or small. I would love to finally find a family to call my own.

Buzz

Hi my name’s Buzz and I love to play and cuddle all day long! My favorite is when my foster parents open the windows and let me lay on them right next to the open breeze! I had a rough start to life being left in an abandoned car, in very cold weather with my 6 other siblings. However, we fought against all odds and have known nothing but the kindness of humans, other cats, and dogs so I love them all! I am looking for my forever home that has at least another animal or child/ren to play with as I would get bored by myself.

If you’re interested in any (or all!) of these three please complete an application HERE or email adoptions@adopthope.org.

Dog of the Week: Tate

Julia D Dog of the Week

Tate

Hi I am Tate! I am a very young guy with lots of energy! The great volunteers are trying to get to know me better.  I have a bum leg that I injured before I came to Last Hope.  It makes me limp but the fantastic vets say I am not in any pain. I love to give kisses and play! I am still learning my manners so I am pretty jumpy and probably shouldn’t be around little kids or I might knock them over.  I still need practice being around other dogs so I am learning about playing with them. I would love to meet you!

Cat of the Week: Baby Girl

Julia D Cat of the Week

Baby GIrl

Hi, my name is Baby Girl. You could also call me a princess or a diva. I like to be noticed and spoiled. In return for your attention I will give you lots of love and affection. If you want an interactive kitty I am the one for you! I am black and white with beautiful green eyes. I watch my figure well and stay slim and slender. I am only 3 years old so I am still very youthful, but not a messy baby kitten anymore. I like to talk a lot. I currently live with other cats and a dog in my foster home and get along with them alright, but I sometimes like to pick on them. 😉 Don’t tell my foster mom!

Dog of the Week: Zach

Julia D Dog of the Week

Zach

Hi, I am Zach! I am about 6 ½ years old and they say I am a Husky Chow mix.  I am comfortable around most other dogs but not a fan of cats.  I am a little nervous around new surroundings and can be a little unpredictable so I should not be in a home with kids.  It would be best to be around people who know about my breed so they can understand my quirks!  I have a previous injury in my leg that has caused some arthritis so I get some supplements for my joints and bones.  I also take some doggy anti-inflammatory pills that help with any pain I might have. I am a pretty happy guy and just like to hang out with my people.

Dog of the Week: Rilee

Julia D Dog of the Week

Rilee 2

Hi, my name is Rilee.  One thing you must know about me is that I LOVE water!  I love to run into creeks, and swim and play!  I would love to have a pool of my own when the weather allows for it.  I also love to go on long walks, love to play fetch!  I know how to sit, lay, shake, and catch treats!  I would like to be the top dog, but maybe if I click with the right family, all will be well. I do okay with other dogs with proper introduction, but can be a little dog selective. I’m a little too curious about cats.  I would do best with children 8+ as sometimes I like to jump on my people when I’m excited!  I love to snuggle, I’m very affectionate and love to give my people kisses!! I would do best with someone who knows about huskies and know that sometimes we dig if we get bored, and that I can be an escape artist if given the chance. Luckily, if you decide you want me to join your family, I come with a six week obedience class. I hope to find my forever family soon!

Cat of the Week: Aria

Julia D Cat of the Week

Aria

This sweet and gentle mama came to Last Hope with her little babies.  She is a little shy and uncertain in new places and around new people, but she is a lover and just needs someone who will be patient with her and give her some extra time and affection.  She absolutely loves to sit in the window and enjoy the sights and sounds of outside while knowing she has the comfort and safety of a relaxing home.  She also loves having her chin and her belly rubbed and has the sweetest meow.   She is a young, beautiful girl with gorgeous green eyes.  If you are looking for a cat that you can really make a difference with, this girl is for you.

Happy Tail: Murray

Julia D Happy Tails

Murray 2

Katie and Aaron adopted Murray, formerly Derby, after a friend referred them to Last Hope. They knew they wanted a dog that grew to about 20 to 40 pounds and they did research on breeds and temperaments so they knew what type of dog would fit in best with their family. They then worked with Last Hope and met some puppies but when they talked about the different puppies they had met, they always came back to Murray. They had a second meeting with Murray and then knew he was the puppy for them!

Murray

Katie says that Murray is doing really well and it feels like he has always been a part of the family. They brought him home when he was just 8 weeks old and ever since then he’s been a busy body! He loves to be active and be the center of attention. He is a VERY smart boy and loves to be challenged and learn new things.

Murray 3Murray 4Murray loves to run in their fenced-in backyard and talk with the squirrels and neighbor dog, Brit. He is a VERY active pup and loves to play fetch with a ball, Frisbee, stick, really anything you’ll throw for him! He enjoys it when the neighbors come over the fence and give him a little extra love and attention, too. Murray enjoys walks around the neighborhood and car rides. He especially enjoys car rides when they are headed to doggy daycare to see his friends!

Murray also loves playing with his cat siblings who were also adopted from Last Hope: Chloe (formerly Josie) and Charlie (formerly Socks).

Thank you, Katie and Aaron, for taking such good care of Murray and giving him a wonderful forever home!

Pretty cool, right?  I am about 6 years old and I had a pretty rough start to life, but I am ready for my forever home! I love my people and love to be close to you! I really love to play with toys too!  I was an outside dog all my life and got heart worm. Last Hope has helped me get better and I am now done with my recovery! I am so excited because I love to play and run! I love my humans too! I don’t like cats too much, though.  I would do best if I was the only dog in your house.  I can’t wait to find my new home!

Cat of the Week: Mercedes

Julia D Cat of the Week

Mercedes

Miss Mercedes has come out of her shell.  She still needs time to get to know you and would prefer a quiet home to live in, but she is the perfect house cat with absolutely perfect manners.  She is good with other cats, small pets, polite dogs and respectful children.  She is a low maintenance gal and never has accidents.  She would make an excellent family member for a retired couple or even an elderly person or home with older children.  She is very gentle in nature.  Once she gets to know you, she will greet you and give you one of her wonderful hugs.  Mercedes has waited an entire year for a forever family that she so deserves.  Could you be that family? Mercedes is a diluted calico that came in as a stray with her six kittens.  She is very cautious of people and will need someone with patience to help her adjust to her new life as a house cat, since she is way too classy to be a street cat.  She is litter box trained and never has accidents.  With patience, she will allow you to pet her and she is very gentle.  She needs someone special to help her come out of her shell and once that happens, she will make a wonderful addition to the family.    Mercedes is good with other cats, dogs and gentle children.

If you’re interested in Mercedes please complete an application HERE or email adoptions@adopthope.org.
