Cat of the Week: Harper

Julia D Cat of the Week

harper

Harper is a gorgeous gray and brown tabby with a very pretty little face! She was rescued from a hoarding situation, along with 45 other cats, in late January.  She is such a love bug and loves to cuddle and roll around on your lap. She is very playful and it’s fun to watch her stand up on his tippy toes to go after a wand toy in the heat of the chase!  Harper would love to find a home with a family that can appreciate her good looks and sweet nature.  Ask about Harper today!

Dog of the Week: Lucy

Julia D Dog of the Week

lucy

Hi I am Lucy! I am about 4 years old and I am full of energy! I love people and give them lots of kisses too! I am pretty good with young kids too.  I am okay with other dogs if you introduce me to them properly. I don’t like cats or chickens too much so they definitely can’t be in my home.  I would love a fenced yard to run in and burn off some of my energy!  I am smart too! I know some people words like sit and shake. I am certain you can teach me lots more, too.  I am sure you will want to take me home with you the minute we meet!

Cat of the Week: Merial

Julia D Cat of the Week

merial-2

Merial is the merriest little ball of fur, purrs and love, and not much else! She is a skinny little thing, but definitely not unhealthy, as she will go to great lengths to be near you. This includes climbing up cat trees you’re standing next to, giving a polite meow, and then putting her front paws on your chest or shoulder and butting her head up against your face. Your heart is melting already, isn’t it?

She’s still pretty young, so playing is definitely a fun learning experience for her as she chases random threads and balls, but more often than not she would simply prefer to be loved on. She can also do magic tricks—just sit down in a room with her, close your eyes, and then poof! When you open them again, Merial will be on your lap! So talented! This sweet and gentle little baby doesn’t seem to want to hurt anyone, and keeps her claws tucked away if there is human skin involved, so if you have children you can rest assured that she’ll love on them just as much as she’ll love on you.

Dog of the Week: Aspen

Julia D Dog of the Week

aspen

My name is Aspen and I am a 2 year old male husky.  I am not aggressive with other dogs, but I am very playful and would love a home that is active!  I am probably too playful for a home with cats and very small children.   I am a good boy in the kennel and I don’t bark much.  I love to be brushed, and to get my teeth brushed (peanut butter toothpaste is the best!) I REALLY love the water, too! I know basic commands like sit, shake, and talk.  With a little work I think I could master a few more commands. I would love a home (no apartments please) with a fenced in yard and lots of room to play.

Cat of the Week: Benson

Julia D Cat of the Week

benson

Benson is a pretty relaxed guy. He is pretty content just lounging around his condo at the adoption center. If you’re looking for a quiet companion he’s the one for you! His favorite thing to do is lay in the window and watch the birds fly by.

Happy Tail: Macy

Julia D Happy Tails

macyAmy, Mike, Delaney, and their Toy Poodle Maddie adopted Macy from Last Hope. They searched Google and PetFinder to find Last Hope. Because Amy has allergies they had to find a hypoallergenic dog like a Poodle. Luckily Last Hope was able to help them out!

macy-2

Because their dog Maddie was older they were a little concerned about bringing another dog into the home but appreciated the trial period we gave them to make sure Macy was going to fit in. It didn’t bother them at all that Macy is deaf.
macy-3
They say she is fitting in well and it didn’t take her long to warm up to the family. She follows Amy everywhere, from room to room. Even though she is deaf they still talk to her and have taught her some hand signals to help with communication. It has been challenging but they say it’s been so worthwhile.
macy-4
Amy says they love everything about Macy and that she’s quite a pill. She has a great personality and she makes them smile every day. She’s very friendly and great with children. She loves being outside and going for rides in the car. She gets five or ten toys out at a time and plays with every single one of them! They can get her going and she does laps around the couch and down the hall and it’s hilarious. Macy loves belly rubs and sleeps on her back.

Amy says, “We would adopt again in a heartbeat and recommend Last Hope to many!”

Dog of the Week: Kaia

Julia D Dog of the Week

Kaia

Hi, my name is Kaia, and I came all the way from California.  While the West Coast has all the sunshine,  I wanted to see how the Midwest farmers’ daughters lived.  All the dog volunteers at Last Hope say I am the sweetest little girl; I love to snuggle and give tons of kisses.  I am a very strong girl and need someone equally as strong.  I do not do well with other animals, so I need to go to a furever home that does not have other pets.  I also need a home that has a privacy fence in case the neighbors have pets.  So if you always wished they all could be California girls and wanted one of your own, then I am your girl…

April

Hi my name is April but my foster family calls me Chowchow.  I am a great girl, good in the house, and don’t get into things. I am housebroken and kennel trained. My foster family tells me I have lots of wonderful energy!  I need lots of exercise, it would be so great if I had an active new home to keep me busy! I am very food motivated!    I get along great with cats, most dogs with proper slow introduction, and respectful kids. I need a fenced yard because being outdoors and playing in the yard and talking are some of my favorite things to do!  I really would like to find my forever family!
