Cat of the Week: Freddie

Julia D Cat of the Week

Freddie is a cheerful little guy who loves to talk and keep you company.  He also absolutely loves dogs and is in love with the Rottie mix in his foster home.  We do think he would be happiest in a home with other animals, a dog in particular would be a great fit for him.  He loves to play with toys, especially ones with feathers on them, and always wants to make sure he’s not missing out on something and will follow you around the house.  He also will cuddle when it’s time for a nap.

Dog of the Week: Zach

Julia D Dog of the Week

Hi, Zach here! All the volunteers say I am just a cool dude!  I am about 7 years old and they say I am a Husky Chow mix.  I am comfortable around most other dogs but not a fan of cats.  I am a little nervous around new surroundings and can be a little unpredictable so I should not be in a home with kids under 10.  It would be best to be around people who know about my breed so they can understand my quirks!  I have a previous injury in my leg that has caused some arthritis so I get some supplements for my joints and bones.  I also take some doggy anti-inflammatory pills that help with any pain I might have. I am a pretty happy guy and just like to hang out with my people. I love to ride in a car and I walk great on a leash and don’t even pull! I would love to have a home of my own.

Cat of the Week: Tracer

Julia D Cat of the Week

Tracer, or Trae as her foster mom calls her, is such a lover and would like nothing more than to have a family to call her own. She would love to have a quiet home where she can relax and bond with her new family. She loves to have her beautiful coat brushed while laying next to her foster mom watching TV. She will quickly settle in beside you to relax. Although her favorite spot is laying in the window! She doesn’t seem to care for the other cats in her foster home but would do okay with some time to adjust with a kitty who doesn’t get in her personal space too much.   When Tracer’s elderly caregiver was moved to a care facility her son started to care for her. She moved with him into a Homeless Veteran’s Shelter. He’s no longer in a position to care for Tracer and when he moved out of the shelter she stayed behind for a few months before moving into her Last Hope foster home. She may be 9 years old but she acts much younger; she was very social with the veterans caring for her.

If you’re interested in Tracer please complete an application HERE or email adoptions@adopthope.org.

Dog of the Week: Jude AKA Shadow

Julia D Dog of the Week

Hi there, my name is Shadow, AKA Jude. I’m a loving young boy and pretty mellow for being so young. I love to play catch and run around the yard. At my foster home I have a dog to play with. We have lots of fun! They also have three cats that I don’t mind being around but I do like to chase them so a home without cats might be best. I may be a bit shy when I first meet you but I warm up quickly. I get a little nervous when I’m by myself but my foster mom has been working with me.  A home where someone is home more would be ideal. I get along with other dogs but not really with small dogs or puppies.  My home should have kids over 10 as I like to play a little rough with my humans.

If you’re interested in Jude/Shadow please complete an application HERE or email adoptions@adopthope.org.

Cat of the Week: Larry

Julia D Cat of the Week

Hey there people! My name is Larry, the Squaw Creek Sewer Cat, but my foster mom calls me Ducha. It is an Old Celt word for black and she thinks it suits me more. Even though different doctor places have said I am between 1 and 3 years old, mom thinks I am more like 7 to 8 months old. I have been growing a lot as I get healthier and I love to play and chase with my foster sisters. They are older and faster than me, but I am getting sneakier. I am learning to be patient and butt wiggle before I pounce. I was found around the 19th of November by some super cool humans out at Squaw Creek Park. They saw me dragging my back legs towards a sewer pipe. I was naughty and scared, so I wouldn’t come out, but they gathered up some friends and finally caught me. I was really sick, super skinny, stinky, covered in flea bugs and had a big owie on my back – oh! and I couldn’t walk – my back legs didn’t work. The cool humans took me to a big hospital to start getting better. They named me Larry and started torturing and feeding me. They killed all my bugs, put tubes in my arms to give me medicine and gave me yummy food. They also shaved the place on my back where my owie was, and think it was maybe caused by a big bird trying to steal me.

After a few days, Aunty Jan from Critter Crusaders brought my foster mom to meet me and my life started to get better. It has taken me a while to get better, a couple of more trips to the hospital, the indignity of wearing human baby diapers and onesies before I could walk well enough to get to my kitty box and different meds for different ickys! But, I can walk and weeble-wobble run now. I jump onto mom’s lap, chase my sisters, and am learning quickly how to be a cat. Now to the important stuff….. my dream home would not have tiny little people as they might accidentally step on me. My reaction times are a little slow. I am fine with other kitties, but have not been around dogs, so I don’t know if I like them or not. I am also not sure about men, and even need a few minutes to warm up to women, but a little patience will get you head butts and purrs…….did I mention I like to purr and talk? I do, a lot. Do you have room in your heart to help me continue to heal and grow? I would love to meet you if you do.

Dog of the Week: Chewie

Julia D Dog of the Week

Chewie is a sweet and calm 3.5 year old Wheaton Terrier who is house/kennel trained.  She knows basic commands such as sit, lay down, off, and shake. Chewie would do best in a quiet home with respectful children over 10,  She can be very nervous meeting new people and needs extra time with new visitors .  Chewie requires a home with another dog and a dog savvy owner. She would do best with a submissive female and/or male dog and will need a proper introduction.  Chewie is not a fit for a home with small dogs, she needs a confident pack leader to instill a little confidence in her. She also may need  more then 1 meeting for her to be comfortable with new people.

If you’re interested in Chewie please complete an application HERE or email adoptions@adopthope.org.

Cat of the Week: Gerald

Julia D Cat of the Week

Meet Jerry…If you like feisty kitties, he’s your man! This sweet boy just wants your love and attention.  He is an absolute snuggler and loves to play, especially with the dogs in his foster home.  Jerry is FIV+, but it doesn’t slow him down and he will still have a long and happy life with the proper care but will most likely need to be the only kitty in his new home.

If you’re interested in Gerald please complete an application HERE or email adoptions@adopthope.org.

Dog of the Week: Lucy

Julia D Dog of the Week

Hi I am Lucy! I am about 4 years old and I am full of energy! I love people and give them lots of kisses too! I am pretty good with young kids too.  I am okay with other bigger dogs if you introduce me to them properly. I love to ride in the car and go for walks! I am super good at both! I don’t like cats or chickens too much so they definitely can’t be in my home.  I would love a fenced yard to run in and burn off some of my energy!  I am smart too! I know some people words like sit and shake. I am certain you can teach me lots more too.  I am sure you will want to take me home with you the minute we meet!

Dog of the Week: Clover

Julia D Dog of the Week

Hi I am Clover! I just had my DNA tested and I am a mix of a lot of cool dogs! I have some Catahoula Leopard Dog, some American Staffordshire Terrier, some Lab and some Siberian Husky which explains my ice blue eyes! I’m an energetic gal so I would really like to have an active FUREVER home!  I love running and jumping in mid air to catch a treat. Tennis balls are my all time favorite toy!I love to carry toys around in my mouth, it is my thing!

I really need a fenced yard so I can run and run! I am pretty good at the agility course too! I can do it all by myself with no leash! I’m a really good girl and prefer to have my humans to all to myself.  I’m not too fond of cats and other dogs, well they tend to steal the spotlight so that upsets me.  I love the water and playing in the kiddie pool! I’ll let you paint my toe nails and rub my belly all the time.  I am a smart girl and can’t wait to meet my forever people!
