Dog of the Week: Tia

Julia D Dog of the Week

tia

Hi, my name is Tia!  I made my way all the way from living on the streets in Cairo, Egypt and I’m ready to find my forever home in Iowa. I LOVE my humans; they are the best thing in the world!  I have a little anxiety and would do well in a home that doesn’t leave me alone for very long and is willing to show me patience in learning that the crate is a safe place. To help me with this, I really need a home with another dog to show me the ropes and follow their lead.  I am the PERFECT dog for your little ones! I sleep on the floor in my little human’s room and I don’t make a peep or wander around at night. More than anything, I just want to be with YOU! I won’t even try to escape out the front door!

Cat of the Week: Culver

Julia D Cat of the Week

culver

Culver the kitten is part tabby, part tortoiseshell – and isn’t she just a beauty?! Culver was rescued off the streets as a tiny kitten by a big-hearted animal lover, who then brought her to Last Hope. Culver was thin and weak, but with proper nutrition and some TLC, has since blossomed into a healthy, vivacious kitten. Culver’s adventure on the streets must have been a little bit scary. She is a little timid at first and might not come to you right away, but if you just pick her up and hold her close, she will melt into your arms and purr pretty quick. Once she gets to know you, she’s less shy.

If you’re interested in Culver please complete an application HERE or email adoptions@adopthope.org.

Dog of the Week: Tanner

Julia D Dog of the Week

tanner

Hi ! I am Tanner and I am looking for a patient, quiet forever home. I am very timid and shy and scare easily. I often run away to find a place to hide when I am frightened. I would do best with small dogs that are nice to me and older kids. My foster mommy is working hard on potty training me but she says I have a ways to go! I love to sit on my foster mommy and daddy’s lap and get lots of attention. I recently had quite a few teeth pulled so I need my kibble to be small and softened with water.

If you’re interested in Tanner please complete an application HERE or email adoptions@adopthope.org.

Cat of the Week: Lokie

Julia D Cat of the Week

lokie

Lokie is a neutered male around 2.5 years old, brother to Rev.  Although Lokie enjoys his alone time in a quiet room, his favorite spot is sleeping with his 7 yr old human foster sister.  He takes a while to warm up to people but once he is used to you, he loves the attention.  He gets along with the other cats in the house and his foster dog sisters.

If you’re interested in Lokie please complete an application HERE or email adoptions@adopthope.org.

Dog of the Week: Duke

Julia D Dog of the Week

duke

Hi, I’m Duke! I am a charming, happy, Red Heeler mix about 2 yrs old. I do excellent walking on a leash; I love to go for walks. I also love car rides, stuffed animals, and playing in a fenced in back yard. I am house broken. I do well with other dogs, and I would love a home with other dogs to help give me some confidence. I am very intelligent so I am very easily trained. I know what sit and stay mean, but I could use some more training to work on those commands and anything else you want to teach me.

I love to run and play; I have a whole lot of energy! I’m just transitioning out of my puppy stage! I also love to cuddle, give kisses and be loved by my human companion. I am very lovey! I am very cautious of new people. I really prefer to come check you out first, and I really rather you don’t pet me until I know you will treat me with kindness. I can’t tell my friends at Last Hope what happened to me before I came to stay with them, but all they know is that it takes me a while to trust people. Because of this I should not be in a home with young kids or teens. Once I know I can trust someone, I am full of love and kisses! I am a very loyal companion and I just want to please my human companion! I have also had my DNA tested! I am officially an Australian Cattle Dog / Harrier mix!  I can’t wait to find my forever home. I hope you will give me a chance to show you how much love I have to give!

Cat of the Week: Rev

Julia D Cat of the Week

rev

Rev is a neutered male around 2.5 years old, brother to Lokie.  This sweet boy loves his quiet time anywhere he can find a soft place to sit, but also likes to hang with his family.  He will sit on your lap and wait for you to pet him.  If he’s not satisfied with the amount of love you have given him, he may just nudge your hand and expect more ear rubs.  He gets along with the other cats in the house (male and female) and tolerates the dogs too.  Don’t forget to keep his food bowl filled…..his belly shows he hasn’t missed too many meals.

If you’re interested in Rev please complete an application HERE or email adoptions@adopthope.org.

Dog of the Week: Jude AKA Shadow

Julia D Dog of the Week

jude

Hi there, my name is Shadow, AKA Jude. I’m a loving young boy and pretty mellow for being so young. I love to play catch and run around the yard. At my foster home I have a dog to play with. We have lots of fun! They also have three cats that I don’t mind being around but I do like to chase them so a home without cats might be best. I may be a bit shy when I first meet you but I warm up quickly. I get a little nervous when I’m by myself but my foster mom has been working with me.  A home where someone is home more would be ideal. I get along with other dogs but no really small dogs or puppies.

If you’re interested in Shadow please complete an application HERE or email adoptions@adopthope.org.

Cat of the Week: Baby Girl

Julia D Cat of the Week

baby-girl

Hi, my name is Baby Girl. You could also call me a princess or a diva. I like to be noticed and spoiled. In return for your attention I will give you lots of love and affection. If you want an interactive kitty I am the one for you! I am black and white with beautiful green eyes. I watch my figure well and stay slim and slender. I am only 3 years old so I am still very youthful, but not a messy baby kitten anymore. I like to talk a lot. I currently live with other cats and a dog in my foster home and get along with them alright, but I sometimes like to pick on them. 😉 Don’t tell my foster mom!

If you’re interested in Baby Girl please complete an application HERE or email adoptions@adopthope.org.

Dog of the Week: Zach

Julia D Dog of the Week

zach

Hi I am Zach! I am about 6 ½ years old and they say I am a Husky Chow mix.  I am comfortable around most other dogs but not a fan of cats.  I am a little nervous around new surroundings and can be a little unpredictable so I should not be in a home with kids.  It would be best to be around people who know about my breed so they can understand my quirks!  I have a previous injury in my leg that has caused some arthritis so I get some supplements for my joints and bones.  I also take some doggy anti-inflammatory pills that help with any pain I might have. I am a pretty happy guy and just like to hang out with my people.

If you’re interested in Zach please complete an application HERE or emails adoptions@adopthope.org.
