Volunteer of the Month: Jane Vraspier

Jane met a volunteer from Last Hope at a soccer tournament. She saw the volunteer’s Last Hope shirt and, being a dog lover, asked her about it. After learning about what Last Hope did for animals, Jane decided to volunteer in July of 2017.

She helps with getting dogs from the Adoption Center to our Saturday and Sunday adoption events so that the public can meet and get to know the dogs. She also has taken dogs to the adoption events for fosters who cannot attend the events themselves. Jane helps with set-ups at the events if that is needed. These events are very important for our dogs because they get them out in the community and in contact with people who might want to adopt them. So the work Jane does for us is vital to getting dogs adopted.

Jane says about her volunteering with Last Hope, “I have really enjoyed helping out with LHAR.  I love the dogs who are there seeking a forever home, and I enjoy learning their personalities.  Most dogs have sad back-stories, such as being abandoned, being picked up by animal control, or being owner-surrendered due to human health issues.  Heartbreaking as the stories are, I am ever-hopeful that each and every dog will find a family who will love them unconditionally.  Meeting and talking with people who are interested in adopting is quite fun.  Finding the right fit for everyone involved is the key.”

Thank you, Jane, for helping these dogs find their perfect forever homes! We couldn’t do what we do without your contributions.
