Dog of the Week: Simon

Julia D Dog of the Week

Simon is a young male, around 3-4 years old and believed to be a lab-shepherd mix.  He lives in a foster home with two other dogs, and makes a great doggy companion to dogs of all sizes! Simon is playful and fun, but may be best suited with dogs and people who appreciate this kind of energy – he might be too much energy for a young person who could easily get knocked down by his exuberant play style.  Simon loves to run around in a fenced-in backyard, so this is a must in his forever home.  He also needs a patient owner who will be diligent about working on general commands (like reminding him not to have his paws up on people or countertops!).  Simon is mostly kennel trained, he just needs a little reassurance (and a treat!) and he kennels up easily.  Potty training has been a breeze in his foster home, Simon is a fast learner! Simon also loves to go for walks, and he walks pretty well on a leash…until he sees another dog that he wants to greet, and then you need to be sure and hang on! Simon has only briefly met cats, he was pretty timid of them so we think he’ll be okay with a dog-savvy cat (as long as he has a canine companion).

Simon’s adoption fee is $250 and includes neuter surgery, being up to date on vaccinations and preventives, a microchip with free lifetime registration, and free obedience class.
