Volunteers of the Month: Val and Andy Graves
After learning about Last Hope at a holiday event, Val and Andy attended a new volunteer orientation and started volunteering in February of 2016.
They volunteer as dog leads at the Adoption Center and work an average of three to four shifts a week. They feed, give medication, provide exercise and play time, clean, and make sure each dog gets plenty of love and attention.
Val and Andy also volunteer as event leads. They help organize events like Tour for Life, the adult prom, holiday parades, and Theisen’s events.
When asked why they like volunteering at Last Hope they said, “We love volunteering for Last Hope because not only does it make a difference in the lives of the dogs but it makes a difference in our lives too. There’s nothing better than the love of a rescue dog and to be a part of so many of their transformations is such a wonderful feeling. We share the same passion with so many of the other volunteers it feels like a second family; without their dedication none of this would be possible.”
Thank you, Val and Andy, for your dedication and all your hard work!
