Volunteer of the Month: Mickala Anderson
Mickala Anderson and her family have been fostering dogs for Last Hope for quite a while. They fostered many years ago and “foster failed” with two of the dogs so they took a break. They’ve since lost both beloved dogs but aren’t ready for a permanent family member so they started fostering again.
Mickala takes the dogs to the vet and helps out with them at some events, when time permits. But mainly, she just shows love to her foster dogs.
When asked why she likes volunteering for Last Hope she said, “How could you not love helping out all these animals? After losing our dogs I’m not ready to own a dog of my own, but I love having them around. Also, I just love watching their new family just melt when they meet these dogs. It makes the goodbye just a little bit easier!”
Mickala also said that everyone at LHAR is great and all are committed to the same goal of finding homes for these pets.
Her family helps with the fostering: Milan, Caiden (17), and Bennett (12).
Mickala and her family provide a wonderful temporary home for the dogs. We couldn’t do what we do without people like Mickala!
