Volunteer of the Month April: Melanie Rudd

Melanie has friends who adopted from Last Hope. She learned about the rescue and has been volunteering since February of 2024. She already has been dependable and dedicated in a relatively short time, and we’re lucky to have her.

She cares for the cats in the morning which entails cleaning rooms and kennels, feeding, sweeping, washing bowls, and playing and snuggling with all the kitties to keep them socialized and happy.

In addition to caring for the cats at the Center, she also fosters a cat in her home – Felon (pictured).

When asked why she volunteers for Last Hope she said, “It makes me sad to think of all the animals that don’t have a family of their own, so I want to provide them as much love and kindness that I can until they get adopted.” Melanie also said volunteering has helped with the grieving process after losing her beloved cat of 19 years.

Thank you, Melanie, for ALL you do!
