Happy Tail: Wednesday

Last Hope had an adoption event at the Coralville PetSmart and that’s where Breanna (Bre) met Wednesday. They spent some time together and when Bre heard her story of giving birth at just six months old, she knew she wanted to give her a chance to just be a kitten. Bre already had completed an adoption application so all she had to do was contact us to let us know she was interested in Wednesday.

We advise people with pets already in the home to segregate them from newly adopted pets for a little while until they can get used to each other’s smells and presence. Bre attempted to do that but Wednesday did NOT cooperate! She wanted to meet everyone immediately. She spent the first day sleeping on Bre’s chest for hours.

Wednesday loves to play and is pretty much fearless. She enjoys her toys (or any household item she deems a toy!), running through her tunnels, using her scratching posts, napping on the patio, Churro sticks (who wouldn’t?), and BOXES! She is energetic and playful during the day, following Bre and her boyfriend Ryan from room to room to see what they’re up to. But when it’s bedtime, Wednesday curls up in Bre’s arms, or face as cats sometimes do, and cuddles up for a good sleep.

Wednesday has gotten along well with the other pets in the home since about day one. There is Thor, the dog, and Orange and Rooster, the other cats. Wednesday is the first one to greet Bre or Ryan when they get home and she loves all the people and animals she comes in contact with.

They feel Wednesday is the perfect addition to their family. She has fit in since day one and continues to delight all of them. We are thankful that Bre and Ryan wanted to give Wednesday a chance to be a kitten again.
