Lynn and her children were looking at the Last Hope website for adoptable cats and came upon Nimbus and Cirrus (formerly Prima and Diva) and they were immediately smitten. Being all-white cats, they reminded Lynn of the cats she grew up with. It was a wonderful memory so she completed that adoption application right away.

The adjustment period can be longer for cats, but Nimbus and Cirrus settled in quickly. The family used treats to encourage them to interact and play. Lynn and Brad worked with their children, Ian and Ivy, so they would understand they should give the cats their space and let Nimbus and Cirrus decide when they wanted to interact with humans.

Both cats like to sleep, play, bird watch out the windows, eat treats, and get as many pets as possible. Lynn was told when they adopted the cats that it would be unlikely that they would be lap pets. But as time has passed, both Cirrus and Nimbus enjoy sitting in Lynn’s lap. They also discovered accidentally that Cirrus likes shrimp (she stole them out of the sink when they were thawing!) and Nimbus likes sardines (she would not allow her sister near the tin!).

Lynn and her family really did it right – they educated their children about how to interact with the cats and they encouraged the cats to be near them with treats in the beginning. We couldn’t ask for a better home for Nimbus and Cirrus!
