Happy Tail: Mallory

Russell and Helen were looking to adopt a dog so they did an internet search and found Last Hope. They already had a dog, Maybee, and needed to make sure the two would get along. Maybee needed to be alpha dog so a somewhat submissive dog would be best. They originally came to the Adoption Center to meet a different dog but the two dogs didn’t get along very well. The Last Hope volunteer suggested they try Mallory and the meeting of the two dogs went much better. Russell and Helen quickly fell in love with Mallory.

The adjustment period after bringing Mallory home was a little challenging. They have a fenced yard but Mallory loved to dig holes. She also had a little anxiety when they left her. But they got her a kennel and eventually she didn’t need it to feel safe. She now prefers lounging on the couch!

Their favorite things about Mallory are her good nature and temperament. They describe her as sweet, loving, cuddly, and playful. She loves to go for walks, dig in the yard, and have her belly scratched.

Mallory was adopted in 2015 and they’re all still getting along great. Mallory has a little more gray in her face, but it’s clear she loves her life and her people love her.
