Dog of the Week: Skye

Julia D Dog of the Week

Skye is a very friendly Red Merle Australian Shepard.  She is only 2 years old and so has a lot of energy.  She loves all of her toys, balls, and frisbees.  She will need a home with at least a 4-foot secure fence.  She does not do well with small dogs or cats and does have some resource guarding with food and treats so she is fed separately from the other dogs in her foster home.  Skye is crate trained and close to being house trained with only a couple of accidents by the door.  Skye is very loving and would be a great dog to have as a running, walking or biking partner.  Aussies are known for their intelligence as she already has learned sit, shake and come so she would probably do well in agility courses.   If you want an active, friendly, and loyal companion this young and unique Red Merle Aussie is your girl and she would love to meet you!  Skye is scheduled to be spayed in Cedar Rapids on August 17th and all costs will be covered by Last Hope Animal Rescue.  Come meet this wonderful dog!

Skye’s adoption fee is $250 and includes spay surgery, being up to date on vaccination and preventives, a microchip with free lifetime registration, and a free obedience class.
