Dog of the Week: Oogie

Julia D Dog of the Week

Hi all! My name is Oogie, and I am just under a year old.  As you can tell from my photos, I’m pretty cute! I am also very sweet and goofy according to my foster mom. I was unsure of what being in a house was all about at first, but with some treats and snuggles I warmed up quickly! Having other dogs in my foster home has helped me learn the ropes of being an indoor dog, so I would really love to have another playful pup in my forever home. I also get along with cats and people of all ages! I walk well on a leash, but my foster mom says I would really thrive in a home that has a fenced-in yard for me to play in. I am almost fully kennel trained and house trained as well, If I am not let out frequently I may have an accident but it won’t be long until you’re able to recognize my cues for when I need to go out to potty! I quickly learned how to sit and now whenever foster mom has my food bowl ready I sit and wait patiently for her to set it down for me. I am very food motivated and smart, so my foster mom says that’ll help with my future training. I will just need somebody with patience to me to continue to learn and grow. I do take a daily medication that I will need to continue on possibly long-term.  I had a few seizures that required monitoring and medication, I have had no medical concerns since then but the doctors have said it’s safest for me to stay on anti-seizure medication at this time (diagnosed idiopathic epilepsy, further testing has shown no underlying causes or reasons for concern).

Oogie’s adoption fee is $300 and includes neuter surgery, being up to date on vaccinations and preventives, a microchip with free lifetime registration, and a free obedience class.
