Dog of the Week: Lily

Julia D Dog of the Week

Loyal Lily is an energetic happy girl who is looking for a calm home to spend the rest of her days! We think she is a terrier-lab mix. She is only around 40-45 pounds. She is house-trained and knows the sit command. When she needs to go out, she will signal by placing a paw on your arm. Lily is currently sleeping on the floor at night and this could be easily transferred to her new home. Then again, she would love to sleep with you and would be a good snuggler. She is shy and will need to be introduced to strangers (dog and human kind) slowly and carefully. Currently, her foster family is using a muzzle during introductions to new people. She is becoming more secure and has had several smooth introductions, but that skill will come only after she trusts her forever family. Lily has a high prey drive and would not do well in a home with cats, birds, or small mammals. She is the most comfortable with dogs smaller than she. With her foster family, Lily has been working on lowering her anxiety. Loud noises, sudden movements, and storms trigger her anxiety. Families with children may not be a good match for Lily. She is currently working on walking on a lead and not lunging at loud or fast-moving vehicles. She is almost five years old.

Lily’s adoption fee is $250 and includes spay surgery, being up to date on vaccinations and preventives, a microchip with free lifetime registration, and a free obedience class.
