Dog of the Week: Hoagie

Julia D Dog of the Week

Hoagie!! We just love this smushy-faced boy, he needs an owner who will help him to grow his confidence in the world; introduce him to new experiences, and provide slow social introductions to other dogs and people.  We don’t know Hoagie’s full background, but it’s clear he was badly injured before joining Last Hope.  His back end is weak, and x-rays have shown old injuries that have since fused.  Hoagie does take prescription medicine for this and will need to continue on this long-term. Hoagie needs a home with another young, playful dog around his size.  He is not a fit with cats or small dogs, he is also not a fit with children under 16. Hoagie will love playing in your fenced-in backyard, and then cuddling on the couch…but be warned, he’s a snorer! Hoagie can be very wary of men, so he needs a patient and kind owner who is prepared for introducing him slowly to new people. Hoagie is a youngster at just over a year old.

Hoagie’s adoption fee is $250 and includes neuter surgery, being up to date on vaccinations and preventives, a microchip with free lifetime registration, and a free obedience class.
