Dog of the Week: George

Julia D Dog of the Week

This boy!  ALWAYS smiling!!! Georgie is a GREAT dog.  We mean, REALLY great.  He has amazing house manners and even knows a few tricks.  He kennels great but doesn’t need to be.  He lived a very hard life before coming to rescue, so while we’ve helped him get healthy (he was heartworm positive and completed treatments this Summer 2022), George does have some work to do on knowing that he’s secure and will never miss another meal. He’s best fed alone in his kennel, but is such a good listener you shouldn’t have any problems with this routine!  George would do best with someone who likes to go for walks or hikes, although he’s great at snuggling on the couch and watching tv or reading with. Georgie loves every person he meets.  He is prey driven, so no rabbits, chickens, cats, etc… for him, please.  He considers them “fast food.” George needs an owner that will understand the importance of monthly heartworm preventives, this will be especially important given his history.  George can be dog selective, he may not be well paired with another large or dominant male however, he has made dog friends of all sizes so an introduction will tell us all what will be the best fit. He is about seven years old.

George’s adoption fee is $250 and includes neuter surgery, being up to date on vaccinations and preventives, a microchip with free lifetime registration, and a free obedience class.
