Volunteer of the Month: Bre Osterkamp
Bre found Last Hope through an adoption event at PetSmart. She was looking to possibly adopt a cat and the volunteers at the event talked to her about how much we need volunteers. Since Bre had been wanting to find somewhere to volunteer it seemed like a great opportunity.
She primarily works with the cats but has also helped at several events in the community including walking a dog in the St. Patrick’s Day parade. Seeing the cats brightens her day and she loves ensuring their bellies are full and they get the love and attention they deserve.
Bre says, “I like volunteering at Last Hope because I have an absolute love for animals. They deserve to know just how sweet and special they all are. It is so fun to learn each and every one of their own personalities! I often think of them all as my own and keep up with what they are up to when I’m not able to be there.”
She thinks volunteering has been very rewarding and she loves advocating for those who do not have a voice. And it’s exciting for her when they get their forever homes.
We are lucky to have Bre as a volunteer because we can always count on her to be here when she’s needed and to put the welfare of the animals first and foremost.
