Volunteer of the Month: Joe Moore
Beginning in about 2014, Joe Moore has been contributing many hours and much love to the dogs of Last Hope. He heard about Last Hope because a friend had adopted from us. Joe adopted a sibling of that dog, Libby, and that started his volunteering journey. He says that everything he does is because of Libby.
Joe has fostered several dogs, walks dogs at the Adoption Center, has been a dog handler at events, he helps with tranports and vet visits, and donates money and goods. He also talks about adoption and Last Hope with people considering welcoming a pet into their homes.
When asked why he likes volunteering Joe said, “I like volunteering for Last Hope because I love the animals and Last Hope is a phenomenal organization. There is such a tremendous need I just can’t turn my back on them. I wish I could do more and in a couple years when I retire, I hope to do so. It just makes me feel good when I’m around the dogs.”
He also encourages people to foster: “It’s one of the most difficult but rewarding experiences you’ll have.”

We’re grateful that Joe chooses to spend so much of his free time helping out the dogs of Last Hope. He is dedicated and dependable and we could use more people like Joe!
