Volunteers of the Month: Willie and Noreen

NOREEN AND LYRIC

Noreen was looking online for a place to volunteer and found Last Hope. She began volunteering weekly with the cats beginning in January of 2018. She helps take care of the cats (cleaning litter boxes, giving food and water, administering medication as needed, etc.), does some cleaning, and performs miscellaneous duties to help keep the Adoption Center in good shape.

WILLIE AND BUDDY

Willie jumped in and started also caring for the cats about a year after Noreen started. He does much of the same tasks as Noreen, but also has put his construction and woodworking skills to use around the Center including helping to build a new cat intake room.

Willie and Noreen say, “We really enjoy getting to know the fabulous cats and taking care of them as they wait for their forever homes.  Also, working with and being part of the amazing volunteer team has been a lot of fun and very rewarding.”

WILLIE AND BUDDY

They have three grown children and soon to be son and daughter in law. Noreen works at Prairie View Elementary School and Willie is retired from Rockwell Collins and currently does furniture restoration and home improvement work. They have always been a household with cats and their current lord of the house is 15-year-old one-eyed, wonderful Stewie.

We give a big shout out to Noreen and Willie for all their wonderful hard work! Their dependability and hard work are greatly appreciated by the kitties and the other volunteers.
