Dog of the Week: Diamond

Diamond is a girl’s (or boy’s) best friend! Diamond is a 5.5-year-old spayed female boxer, and once she finds her person she will stick to them like velcro!  Diamond LOVES attention and is not great at sharing it, so dog matches for her can be dependent on the other dog’s willingness to share.  We have seen her do best with smaller, mature dogs who tend to ignore her.  She is not a fit with cats.

Diamond is also great with children, although she does need to learn house manners still (like not countertop cruising or stealing food)! Diamond absolutely requires a physical 6-foot fence in her forever home.  She is not an overly confident dog especially when she is outdoors or in new environments and has a history that includes jumping fences and running away. Diamond was also heartworm positive when she joined the rescue. She has been through treatment but requires an owner who understands the importance of keeping her on preventives year-round for the rest of her life.

Her adoption fee is $250 and includes spay surgery, being up to date on vaccinations and preventives, a microchip with free lifetime registration, and a free obedience class.
