Dog of the Week: Martin

Julia D Dog of the Week

Hey, I’m Martin! I’m a young energetic guy who loves to be around my people and have them pet my tummy. The first thing people say about me is how handsome I am. I have to agree, I’m very handsome! I’m a guy who enjoys being active and am looking for an active family. I have great athletic abilities and love to play fetch and chase a tennis ball. I’m a shy guy and it takes me a bit to warm up but give me time and treats and I’ll be putty in your hands.

I do great on a leash, and prance when I walk. I enjoy playing with other dogs of any size at the dog park or for a playdate. I would love to have a 4 legged sibling to play with. I would feel better in a family with older kids 10 and up. My foster mom loves that I’m not a barker. Whenever anyone rings the doorbell or come into the house I just look and never bark. All in all I’m a sweet, goofy, polite, adventure seeking, handsome guy wanting to find my forever family.

Martin’s adoption fee is $250 which includes neuter surgery, being up to date on vaccinations, a microchip with free lifetime registration, and a free obedience class. If you’re interested in this great guy, please complete an application HERE or email adoptions@adopthope.org.

Happy Tail: Izzy

Julia D Happy Tails

Larry and Teresa heard about Last Hope from a foster who works with Larry. They had originally seen another dog that caught their eye, but after talking about it with a Last Hope volunteer they decided that dog wouldn’t be a good fit for them. The volunteer suggested they meet Izzy and it turned out she was a great match for them! They say Izzy is amazing and they couldn’t ask for a better addition to their family.

The adjustment period lasted about a week during which Izzy seemed a little sad, but they chalked it up to the fact that she had spent a while in her foster’s home to get her healthy and she was just unsure why she was in a new home. But after that short period, she got adjusted and now she is attending the free obedience class Last Hope gives to all dog adopters. Teresa reports that she enjoys the class and is a joy to work with.

When Teresa and Larry come home, Izzy is SO happy to see them and they love that. She loves to chill on the couch and even thinks she’s a lap dog!

Recently Izzy had a tumor in her mouth and they were concerned that it was cancerous. She had surgery to remove it and thankfully it was not cancer. It took her a while to recover from the surgery, but now she’s back to her old self.

Teresa says, “We will never adopt another puppy. This was so easy.  She has spoiled us.  Truly we lucked out. This was plug and play.  Mostly play.”

Thank you, Larry and Teresa, for giving Izzy a wonderful forever home!

Cats of the Week: Silas and Ivory

Julia D Cat of the Week

Looking for a pair of handsome cuties to keep you company? Look no more, meet Prince Silas and Ivory! Silas and Ivory have beautiful, soft white fur and big fluffy tails. These boys are big kitties and have fluffy manes, as they resemble the gorgeous Maine Coon breed and also the stunning Turkish Angoras’. But don’t be intimidated by their royal appearances, they are very sweet and down to earth! Silas and Ivory are amazing companions, all they ask for is your love! Silas and Ivory are presently living with their foster family, but would really love a home of their own. They have amazing personalities and would really love to cuddle up to their furrever mom/dad. The boys would do best in a quiet home and mature kiddos only as rambunctious children tend to make them nervous. They get along well with the other kitties in their forever home. Dogs tend to make them nervous but a calm dog may work out okay with a proper introduction.

If you’re interested in Silas and Ivory, please complete an application HERE or email adoptions@adopthope.org.

Dog of the Week: Lacey

Julia D Dog of the Week

My name is Lacey! I am about 6 yrs old and I love to cuddle with people big or small. I also love stuffed animals and walks. I like to play outside or in, but can also relax and take a nap. Lately, I have been learning how to walk on a leash and try not to pull too hard. I am working on that. I am selective of my doggy friends because I like to be top dog,  but I might be ok with a submissive smaller male.    I may be fine with cats if they don’t run much. I would do best with a fenced yard that I could run around in and explore.

Lacey’s adoption fee is $250 which includes spay surgery, being up to date on vaccinations, a microchip, and a free obedience class. If you’re interested in this great gal, please complete an application HERE or email adoptions@adopthope.org.

Dog of the Week: Shadow

Julia D Dog of the Week

Hi, my name is  Shadow!    I am a goofy bundle of enthusiasm, so I need to join a family with adults or older children. My idea of bliss is chasing the ball at the dog park or acting as your running partner; anything to keep me active and exploring! I do fancy myself as a high jump champion so secure fencing is required.

I am looking to be the top dog in a one-dog home!   I have done doggy daycare and can get along with dogs, but when I am in my home I will not share my toys with other doggy companions.   I would like someone to continue my training and show me lots of attention. My mission is to treat every day as a new adventure and I am looking for my perfect partner in crime (of the good kind)!

Shadow’s adoption fee is $250 which includes neuter surgery, being up to date on vaccinations, a microchip, and a free obedience class. If you’re interested in this great goofy guy, please complete an application HERE or email adoptions@adopthope.org.

Cat of the Week: Ruffles

Julia D Cat of the Week

Ruffles is a feisty young thing with a lot of love to give! She’s a chatty girl (she can hold up her end of a conversation, for sure!) with plenty of personality and an appetite to match. She love, love, LOVES to play, is entranced by YouTube videos of fish and birds, and enjoys a good game of chase around the house. She wants to be the lone queen of her household and hasn’t quite learned that hands and feet aren’t toys yet, so a home with older children or adults would be most suitable. Ruffles has boundless energy and loves new stimulating experiences. She can be easily startled by loud noises and is rather squirmy if you pick her up, but she’ll rub against you and purr while she sits on your lap just as happily as playing like she’s the mightiest hunter in the forest.

Ruffles’ adoption fee is $85 which includes spay surgery, being up to date on vaccinations, and a microchip. If you are interested in this great gal, please complete an application HERE or email adoptions@adopthope.org.

Dog of the Week: Prudence Hope

Julia D Dog of the Week

Hi, my name is Prudence Hope, but you can call me Prue.  I am a very energetic, loving, playful girl who just wants to follow you around everywhere, people have jokingly called me “white shadow.”  I am a well-behaved girl, love every person I have ever met, I would like to be the princess of the house but could possibly get along with a very submissive boy dog my size or bigger. I don’t like cats (or small animals) at all.  I am fully house trained, don’t do well in a crate but can be trusted to be out during the workday, I am a little anxious on car rides, know how to sit, lay, and shake, and love to cuddle.  If you are looking for a faithful companion to watch movies with and cuddle in bed with, then I am your girl.   I would do best with kids over 10.

Prue’s adoption fee is $250 which includes spay surgery, being up to date on vaccinations, a microchip, and a free obedience class. If you’re interested in this great girl, please complete an application HERE or email adoptions@adopthope.org.

Cat of the Week: Blaze

Julia D Cat of the Week

They call me Blaze. I was pulled from a small hoarding house along with my brother and some others. The house was in such bad shape, it has been gutted now. I’m glad to be out of there and in better hands at Last Hope. I’m looking for a second chance at a forever home now. I just need someone who will love me and take good care of me. Blaze is about three years old so he still has a lot of love to give!

Blaze’s adoption fee is $85 which includes neuter surgery, being up to date on vaccinations, and a microchip. If you’re interested in this great guy, please complete an application HERE or email adoptions@adopthope.org.

Dog of the Week: Kaia Carson

Julia D Dog of the Week

Hi, my name is Kaia Carson and I came all the way from California.  While the West Coast has all the sunshine,  I wanted to see how the Mid-West farmers daughters lived. All the dog volunteers at Last Hope say I am the sweetest little girl, I love to snuggle, and give tons of kisses.  I love to ride in the car and go for walks and I am super good at both! I am a very strong girl and need someone equally as strong.  I am a princess and love all the attention so I will need to be the only pet in the house.  I also need a home that has a privacy fence in case the neighbors have pets. So if you always wished they all could be  California girls and wanted one of your own, then I am your girl.

Kaia Carson’s adoption fee is $250 which includes spay surgery, being up to date on vaccinations, a microchip, and a free obedience class. If you’re interested in this great girl, please complete an application HERE or email adoptions@adopthope.org.

Cat of the Week: Tuffy

Julia D Cat of the Week

Tuffy… A sweet Orange Tabby & white boy who we suspect has had a tough life, yet this sweet soul wants nothing more than to be loved on, petted, and treated with kindness – for which he will reward you with the most endearing, rumbling purr that will just grab your heart! He is about 6 years old and was found by a kind cat-loving person in an area of Cedar Falls which for some reason is a prime area for people to abandon their animals.  He had horrific injuries on his back and it required some surgery and many stitches, and he also had a hole in his leg!  Through all of that, he has remained loving and so appreciative of the loving care he has been given.  He will make someone a very loving and sweet companion!

Tuffy’s adoption fee is $85 which includes neuter surgery, being up to date on vaccinations, and a microchip. If you’re interested in this handsome guy, please complete an application HERE or email adoptions@adopthope.org.
