Josie is a spunky girl who’s been with us a couple months. She suddenly came down with an upper respiratory infection over the weekend and went downhill fast on Sunday evening. She was taken to Graham Animal Hospital in Center Point on Monday first thing in the morning. (Thank you to Graham for getting us in on such short notice!) They did some blood work and x-rays and saw early signs of pneumonia.
She was transferred to Eastern Iowa Veterinary Specialty Center and kept in an oxygen kennel overnight. She is improving and has been taken out of the oxygen kennel. She’s going to stay at least one more night as her white blood cell count is still all over the place. We’re hoping that as she continues to improve we will see those numbers stabilize and she will be able to come home tomorrow.
Current estimated expenses: Approximately $2,000
