Dog of the Week: Jessa

Julia D Dog of the Week

Jessa

Jessa is young, energetic, athletic Doberman mixed with German Shorthair.  Probably aged between 1 and 2, she still has wonderful playful puppy energy, and is attracted to everything that moves:  balls, tug toys, might be a great Frisbee catcher.  Um, yes, squirrels too.  Jessa is a beauty, with wonderful glossy brown coat and symmetric tan markings. She’s medium size and loves to run.  Perfect for someone who’d like a running partner.  She also enjoys running alongside the bike, easily could do 4 or 5 miles daily.

Jessa loves water and would probably bound right into a pond.  Jessa greets everyone with friendly exuberance and gets along with any receptive dog, inviting to play immediately. Jessa is looking for a forever home with people who can provide outlets for her energy (and can deal with her strength) and preferably a dog companion to play with.  She has been known to climb out of her chain-link kennel, so a 6′ privacy fence is recommended.  At her foster home she quickly learned sit, down, and shake hands.  She’s a snuggler and would happily watch TV cuddled up next to you on the couch.  Crate-trained, but she’d much prefer to sleep with you.  No cats, no small children (only because she might knock them down in her excitement).
